A digital signature is a mathematical technique for verifying the integrity and validity of a letter, device, or digital document. It's the digital equivalent of a handwritten signature or a stamped seal, but it has a lot more protection built in. The aim of a digital signature is to prevent tampering and impersonation in digital communications.
A Digital Signature Certificate is a secure digital key provided by certifying authority to validate and confirm the identity of the person who holds the certificate. To produce signatures, digital signatures make use of public key encryptions. A digital signature certificate (DSC) includes information such as the user's name, pin code, country, email address, certificate issue date, and certifying authority name. They may also be used to accept informed consent by signers.
